Inside Mingyue Songjian

Staying at Mingyue Songjian
01 What's the Erhai waterfront experience at Mingyue Songjian?
The hotel is built on the lake's edge — select suites have private pools that appear to flow straight into Erhai, and the restaurant and lounge open directly onto the water. Sunrise over the lake (with Cangshan behind) is the defining moment most mornings. Shuanglang Ancient Town's boardwalk is at the doorstep for evening strolls through fishermen's markets and Bai-craft shops.
02 Shuanglang vs Dali Old Town — where to base?
Shuanglang (where Mingyue is) offers lake-edge quiet, better sunrises, and fewer tourists than Dali Old Town. It's 1 hour by car or 45 min by ferry from Dali. We usually base guests in Shuanglang for 2–3 nights of lakeside stillness, then a day in Dali Old Town, Xizhou, and Cangshan as a side trip. Mingyue is the right choice if the lake is your priority.
03 When is the best time to stay at Mingyue Songjian?
March to early June for crystalline spring weather and the clearest Cangshan views across the lake; September to mid-November for autumn mildness. Avoid Chinese summer holidays (July–August) — Shuanglang gets crowded. Winter is quiet, mild (rarely below 5°C), and the lakeside morning mist is at its atmospheric peak — rooms have underfloor heating throughout.
