Zoland is a boutique mountain retreat defined by stillness and restraint. Located near Qingyin Village in the forested foothills of Emei Mountain—one of China's most spiritually significant landscapes—the resort transforms a series of traditional structures into a contemplative sanctuary where architecture dissolves into the terrain. Designed by Studio J. Bridgland, the property embraces a philosophy of "architectural quietude," inviting guests to slow down and rediscover a dialogue with nature.

Inside Zoland

Staying at Zoland
01 Where exactly is Zoland in relation to Mount Emei?
Near Qingyin Village in the forested foothills — below the main monastery circuit, so you wake to bamboo groves and stream sound rather than tour buses. The trailhead to Mount Emei's lower monasteries is 15 minutes by car; the cable car to the 3,077m Golden Summit is 45 minutes. Most guests stay 2 nights: one for a golden-summit sunrise ascent, one for the forest monasteries and tea culture at Wannian Temple.
02 How does Zoland fit into a Sichuan itinerary?
Two patterns. One: 2 nights Zoland paired with Leshan's Giant Buddha — an easy spiritual-landscape short trip from Chengdu. Two: Zoland as a pre- or post-altitude buffer before heading into Jiuzhai Valley or West Sichuan — jet-lag recovery in a gentle landscape before altitude. We build both patterns regularly.
03 When is the best time to stay at Zoland?
April to June for spring blooms along the forest paths and clear sunrise conditions on the Golden Summit. September to October for autumn colour in the lower monasteries and crisp clear mornings. Winter brings snow on the summit (atmospheric) but some high-altitude trails can close after heavy snow. Avoid July–August monsoon when the lower valleys get slippery and summit visibility drops.
