01 Where is Oness Resort and how do I get there?
It is at Hani Town in Yuanyang county, Honghe, southern Yunnan, in the middle of the terrace country. Most travellers arrive by road from Kunming — four to five hours, usually broken at Jianshui — and use a private driver on the mountain, because the viewpoints run to sunrise and sunset timings rather than a schedule.
02 Is it close to the sunrise viewpoints?
It is a short drive from Duoyishu, Bada and Laohuzui rather than standing on one of them, so a sunrise means an early start with your driver. In exchange you get a quieter, more comfortable property than anything at the viewpoints themselves. If watching the dawn from your own deck matters more, Duoyishu Half-Mountain is the one to book.
03 When should I come?
Roughly November to April, when the terraces are flooded and mirror the sky. May onward is green and far quieter, with cloud seas still possible on cool mornings. Sunrise is never guaranteed on any single morning, so we build in more than one where the itinerary allows.
