01 Where is Vacilando Siguniang and how do I get there?
It sits inside the Changping Valley scenic area at Mount Siguniang, in Siguniangshan Town, Xiaojin County, western Sichuan — about six kilometres from Rilong and roughly seventeen minutes by road from the Shuangqiao Valley gate. Travellers reach it by private vehicle from Chengdu, four to five hours over Balang Pass. The lodge runs driver transfers to the Changping Valley visitor centre, so the trailhead is effectively on the doorstep.
02 How high is it — will the altitude be a problem?
The lodge is at 3,300 m, and most travellers adapt without difficulty provided they don't exert hard on the first day. Every room has underfloor heating throughout and its own oxygen concentrator, which takes the edge off the first night in particular. Arrive, walk gently, drink more water than feels necessary, and save the longer valley walks for day two.
