Inside Dayanaman

Staying at Dayanaman
01 What makes Amandayan different from other Lijiang stays?
Lion Hill is the best address in Lijiang — historically the seat of the Mu royal family, with commanding views back over the red-tiled roofs of Dayan to Jade Dragon. Amandayan combines this position with Aman's signature service model (a dedicated host per suite, no signage, no check-in counter) and Naxi-reading architecture that disappears into the hillside. It's the highest-price point in Lijiang and the most discreet.
02 When is the best time to stay at Amandayan?
March to early June and September to early November — the same peak windows as Lijiang. Early mornings on the terrace, with the old town still quiet below, are the defining experience. Winter (December–February) is quiet and dramatic with clear views of snow-capped Jade Dragon; some evenings drop below zero but the suites have underfloor heating throughout.
03 How does Amandayan combine with other Aman properties?
Many guests combine Amandayan with Amanfayun (Hangzhou) or Amanyangyun (Shanghai) as a China Aman triangle, flying between them. Regionally, we often pair Amandayan with Songtsam Meili (3.5-hour drive north) or Jixiashan for a design-led Yunnan loop. Our Yunnan slow culture tour can be shaped entirely around Aman-standard stays.
