Common questions

Staying at Jilin Mountain Lodge

01 Where is Jilin Mountain Lodge and how do I get there?

It's in Chunduole village in Deqin county, in the hills on the west side of the Lancang (Upper Mekong) about 13 km from Cizhong and its mission church, up a narrow mountain road. Feilai Si and Meili Snow Mountain are about three hours' drive down the gorge to the north; Tacheng is about four hours over the ridges to the south. Your driver brings you up; it's a stop between the two rather than a place you reach alone.

02 What are the rooms like?

There are six, in a converted farmhouse compound: 63 m² double and queen rooms, a 65 m² suite with two double beds and a 100 m² family suite, all with picture windows and most with a balcony. Floors and panelling are timber, bathrooms are stone with walk-in showers, and breakfast — Chinese, cooked by the family — is included.

03 Who is this stay best for?

Travellers who would rather spend the Cizhong night in a quiet walnut village above the river than in the village itself — a terrace with a stupa, Baima Snow Mountain across the valley, home cooking from the garden, a forest trail up to the pasture above. It's the Cizhong night on our Shangri-La Wine Journey.
